Master your skills as a Dental Hygienist at Apollo College.

Trained and certified Dental Hygienists teach patients how to practice good oral hygiene, remove calculus, stains, and plaque from teeth, take and develop dental x-rays, and much more. This popular program has recently expanded and is now offered at the Portland, Oregon campus.

Graduates will also be prepared to take national written and regional clinical exams leading to licensure. Career opportunities for graduates include: clinical positions in dental offices, public health agencies, hospitals and community dental clinics; educational and administrative positions; and research and marketing of dental-related products.

Job prospects are expected to remain excellent, as employment of Dental Hygienists is anticipated to grow 30% through 2016, much faster than average for all occupations. While wages may vary by region, as of May 2006, median hourly earnings of dental hygienists were $30.19.*
